BAGTAG specializes in digital baggage solutions, enhancing travel experiences by streamlining baggage handling for both passengers and crew. In collaboration with Amadeus we have developed a seamless integration between our electronic bag tag solution and Amadeus Altéa Departure Control, contributing to faster, more efficient airport operations. It allows passengers to enjoy quicker check-in processes, bypassing long lines; meanwhile crew members benefit from streamlined processes that minimize time spent on baggage management, so they can instead focus on customer service.
The success of the BAGTAG solution is evidenced by the rapid adoption rate among airlines. Seventeen international carriers have already implemented electronic bag tags, and thirteen of these are Amadeus Altéa airlines. The API connection established between the two partners enables airlines to complete the necessary Departure Control System (DCS) implementation within days, making it an incredibly low effort yet highly effective project. Once this connection is set up an airline is ready to service any electronic bag tag thanks to BAGTAG’s multi-vendor platform, which ensures a future-proof solution supporting forthcoming electronic bag tag producers.
With the DCS-to-BAGTAG platform set up as the basis, the airline can then choose to which level they integrate on - all according to their own timelines, needs and business goals. A prime example is Icelandair, which has recently successfully rolled out electronic bag tags for their entire crew.
