Welcome to Cytric User Experience (UX) information center! This page provides Cytric Travel users with updates on UX improvements that have been implemented to improve their booking experience.
Improved site map
In accordance with WCAG guidelines, we are introducing a Site Map for Cytric Travel. This will allow people an alternative way of navigating to key pages within cytric travel. Link will be presented in Cytric Footer. Released Q3, 2023.
Clear Filter Option
In order to clear the filters in the air flow quicker, we have added an additional ‘Clear Filter’ button in the context of the message displayed. This helps reduce the time searching for the clear filter button (top of the page) and reduced time needed to accomplish a travelers task. Released Q3, 2023.
Air / Rail Summary of Fares
We have introduced a new feature that allows travelers the option to view available fares from Air or Rail providers in a concise matrix style display. The new feature can be viewed by expanding the summary section that appears under the “Filter” button. The summary is pre-filtered by cheapest fare and shortest travel time. Released Q3, 2023.
Improved loading message
We have improved the loading message (also known as "inline spinners") during the booking flow to make them more contextual and intuitive for our travelers. Released Q2, 2023.
Car Booking Flow: Fully Accessible
As of our 20.5 (April, 2023) release, our core Car Booking Flow will be fully accessible. Additionally, to better support Accessibility guidelines and to align with our Hotel Booking Flow, we have also implemented some improvements in the sequence of the car booking flow. Before 20.5 users would be directed to the map view to select stations as a first step. As of 20.5 users will land on the list view of stations to select from instead. They will still have the ability to view the map view if they so wish by clicking the ‘Map view’ button in the top right of the page. Released Q2, 2023.
Automatic destination pre-fill for multi-city bookings
Adding car or hotel segments to a multi-destination booking (flight or rail) can be challenging for users as they always need to manually fill the right destination and the correct dates. To ease that process a new feature is now activated to have those fields pre-filled when adding a segment from the complete booking page. Released Q1, 2023.
User Statistics
We have introduced the ability for users to see some key personal stats when they land on the personal dashboard after signing in. Depending on the setup your corporation's aminsitrator has created, users will be able to see statiscs such as: CO2 limit (company limit, the current amount and the percentage of the limit has been reached already.), total number of trips, the total number of nights in a hotel and the total amount of money spend for travel. Released Q4, 2022.
Route Statistics
To provide better visibility and insights for our travelers, we have introduced a feature that captures Air and Rail bookings done between city pairs repeatedly. It captures the average price paid, the average C02 emitted, how many times it has been booked and how much in advance bookings are generally done. This tracks every booking done within the Cytric Travel booking tool. Released Q4, 2022.
Acela Trains Logo
We have introduced the ability to better distinguish Acela Trains (high speed Amtrak trains in the United States). Released Q4, 2022.
Accessibility – Making Cytric more readable, intuitive, and inclusive
Primary booking flows for Air, Hotel, Rail and Expense are compliant with the WCAG 2.0 Level AA standard for screen reader and keyboard navigation. Watch the video to find out more. Released Q3, 2022.
Color updates for warning messages
We have updated the color code of our warning messages. Our previous color code was closer to red and could have been confused for an ‘Error’ notification.
We have migrated to a shade closer to orange to be aligned with the nature of the messaging. Released Q3, 2022.
Merge bookings prompt
When searching for a new booking, Cytric detects and suggests (when relevant) to merge bookings if another booking exists for the same period. Multiple bookings for the same trip can be avoided and the booking process is made more intuitive. Released Q2, 2022.
Integrated industry recognized sustainability partners
For Air journeys, Cytric now uses ICAO's "Carbon Emissions Calculator", calculations are based on publicly available industry data taking into account factors such as aircraft types, route specific data, passenger load factors and cargo carried. Rail travel carbon emissions will be calculated by Greentripper using factors such as travel distance and train type
Hotels integrated content from leading aggregators. Released Q2, 2022.
Increase intuitiveness of the "add segment" flow
Making the ‘add’ booking buttons clearer for their intended action.
Released Q1, 2022.
Simplified flow while adding segments
The ‘traveler select page’ will no longer appear when only one traveler is adding additional bookings to their trip. Reducing the number of pages end-users have to navigate through. Released Q1, 2022.
